Description
VARISIL™ HE and HE-S surge arresters models with a polymer housing.
The metal oxide varistor blocks are embedded in fiberglass-reinforced epoxy resin, all covered with a silicone rubber housing. The HE-S model features additional layers for enhanced strength. The VARISIL™ HE-S design provides twice the bending strength.
These surge arresters protect equipment installed on 24 kV distribution networks against overvoltages. Thanks to their increased bending strength, they can also serve as insulators, for example, for underground cables at transition poles. They can be equipped with various terminal types and comply with all versions of the IEC 60099-4 standard.
