Description
SM6 units are used for the MV section in MV/LV transformer substations in public distribution systems and MV consumer or distribution substations up to 36 kV.
The SM6 is made up of modular units containing fixed, disconnectable or withdrawable metal-enclosed switchgear, using sulphur hexafluoride (SF6) or vacuum:
- Switch-disconnector
- SF1, SFset or Evolis circuit breaker
- Vacuum contactor
- Disconnector
These switchgear units are designed for indoor use and comply with IP2XC protection standards. They offer a compact footprint—with widths ranging from 375 mm to 750 mm, a fixed height of 1600 mm, and a floor depth of 840 mm—enabling installation in confined technical rooms or compact prefabricated substations. Cable terminations are made from the front of the panels. Operational interfaces are streamlined through the integration of all control and monitoring elements on a front-mounted panel. The units support extensive customization through the integration of various auxiliary components such as protection relays, current transformers (CTs), voltage transformers (VTs), surge arresters, and SCADA-compatible control and monitoring systems.
